Founded in 1945 by Masaru Ibuka as a radio repair shop, Tokyo Tsushin Kogo K.K. was renamed to SONY in 1958 because it was easier to pronounce. In 1989, CSG Imagesoft, later renamed to Sony ImageSoft, published Super Doge Ball for the NES in North America.  After publishing dozens of games for play on SEGA and Nintendo systems, Sony changed video game history forever with the PlayStation in 1994 by shipping over 100 million units.
