Founded in 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi to hand make hanafuda cards out of crushed mulberry tree bark, Nintendo, or “leave luck to heaven”, became a dominant player in the playing card business. Warp to a century later where Nintendo changed history forever with Donkey Kong (1981), and then rebooted the American video game industry with the unstoppable Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Shigeru Miyamoto’s creations of Mario (Super Mario Bros.) and Link (The Legend Of Zelda) have become eternal superstars in the video game universe.
